Operations Supervisor

 Responsibilities:

• Support the Director of Operations in maintaining site requirements
• Supervise the daily activities of employees, ensuring the most efficient use of all equipment and processes to meet company requirements.
• Work with the Director of Operations to make sure preventive maintenance on all equipment is performed as per the schedule
• Maintain a healthy, safe, and team-oriented work environment and make sure safety procedures are followed
• Collaborate with team to ensure tasks are completed on a regular basis and in a timely manner.
• Responsible for site outgoing logistics during the season.
• Proactively assess and address the training needs of team members (health & safety, operations, procedures, etc.)
• Enforce and adhere to company policies as applicable.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations

Key Tasks

• Reports to the Director of Operations
• Day to day supervision of Custom App operators and all truck drivers
• Work closely with yard supervisor and staff regarding chemical inventory movement and warehouse needs including minimizing part jug inventory, rinse water consumption, etc.
• Participate in daily tailgate talks to address safety issues, equipment concerns, daily activities, etc.
• Contact contractors and suppliers as needed for mobile equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, etc.
• Prepare & manage spreadsheets for annual chemical forecast by vendor
• Prepare & manage spreadsheets for annual customer chemical pricing
• Conduct monthly safety inspections on mobile equipment
• Manage preventative maintenance, cleaning, etc. of custom app and mobile equipment
• Work with customers and Agronomists to ensure maps in SST are up to date
• Plan and organize Custom App jobs for all equipment including sprayers, spinner, soil sampling, frost seeding, etc.
• Visit customer fields to ensure they are ready for application, entry and exit points are known, neighbouring properties are noted, etc.
• Process blend tickets, custom app work orders, invoices, etc. for custom app jobs
• Process purchase orders, receipts and invoices for chemical inventory
• Hire and train Custom App operators & truck drivers
• Assist with year- end inventory count for chemicals
• Manage consignment inventory at 3^rd party Custom Applicators
